We are committed to enhancing the health, longevity and happiness of all the Sanctuary animals.
Our first two rescues: Princess, an Arabian/Morgan mare, was severely malnourished and had a terrible case of rain rot on her back from lack of shelter. She is still a bit leery of storms and has some lingering fears around starvation. We are working through these with her. Geronimo, a hackney gelding, was also malnourished and suffered from severe anxiety. He was housed in an undersized stall. A halter was put on him when he was young. He grew but the halter didn't. When he was rescued the halter was embedded in his head. Geronimo became known as the wild pony and would not let anyone touch him.
The ponies came to The Farm Way in June of 2012. |

When the ponies came to us, princess was halter broke and Geronimo, well, wild pony summed him up perfectly. Today, we ride Princess. Geronimo allows us to touch his entire body and accepts a saddle. Not a rider, yet. He may never. This is okay with us. Everyone is encouraged to be who they truly are here at the Sanctuary.
